The Christmas Promise

christmasThe Bible says in,

Luk 2:4-14  And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)   To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, ( deliverer, preserver) which is Christ the Lord.
And this [shall be] a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Lift up your voice with a voice of triumph- the Savior has come!!! Glory to God in the highest!!! He deserves our highest praise- just for the simple fact that he has redeemed us delivered us- preserved us- those who accept this savior will experience the highest joy of all- the joy of eternal life-!!

What a great day that was and still is today- the message is still alive and vibrant because not only was our savior Jesus Christ born but he fulfilled his mission to redeem back to God the lost souls of humanity- we don’t have to be lost any longer!!! We don’t have to be separated from God any more- Christ was born and became a man and that man went to the cross for the sins of the whole world so that we could be free!!

Look at the great promise of Christmas-

Peace – Goodwill toward men

Peace- oh how that was needed in Joseph and Mary’s day- OH how that is more needed in our day- the world has changed – we are living in the last days where it was prophesied that they would be perilous times- perplexity of nations- mens hearts failing for the fear that is coming- oh if we ever needed the promise of Christmas it is today!

Peace on earth- can it be realized- oh men strive for peace everyday – ongoing negotiations between warring factions in hopes of some kind of peace- yet there is trouble- just in the past few weeks – violence and murder – here at home and abroad- children killing there fathers – brothers against brothers- unrest- rage where is there peace on earth- yet the promise of Christmas says there will be peace on earth- but the real peace God is talking about that we search for so dearly can only be found in the surrendered life to Jesus Christ the savior of the world- !!!

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, ( deliverer, preserver) which is Christ the Lord.

Jhn 3:16,17  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

We can be saved!!! Saved from what from the consequences of this sinful world- saved from the very effect of sin which is death-

Saved with a peace that passes all understanding! ! Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
The peace God offers through Jesus Christ- is so much higher so far superior that any semblance of peace you can find here- God’s peace can be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and fearing nothing from God and being content with your earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace which transcends all understanding it shall [d]garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

It is peace of mind body and soul- the bible calls it perfect peace- Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee.

The words perfect peace translates here into one Hebrew word Shalom which means God’s completeness and soundness, prosperity and wellness- the greeting shalom is the highest blessing you can bestow on your brother and sister-

Jesus said this John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace,- how do I acquire and keep this peace even through these troubled times- by accepting Jesus Christ as my personal savior and keeping my mind- stayed and laying my mind on him- placing my heart and my soul on him in total trust to God. God Bless you!!
